OMC shows how it's done.
UPDATE: Pictures are here.
Today’s ride went off without a hitch. The route worked beautifully and those who left it seemed to have a blast. I know it sure was fun to watch them.
The party back at the clubhouse couldn’t have been better. Great food, good folks, and good music.
Look to sf-mc.org for pictures.
Here’s the route, more or less.

This Sunday is the season’s first official ride. I’ve been refining the route with the guys from the SF Vampires and it is looking great. They tell me the food will be plentiful and tasty, so things are looking right on track for a fun event. Bring the dirt bike. Bring the street bike. There’s something for everyone. Hope to see you all there.

A few of us got talking last night about keeping emergency information on your person in case something bad happens. I went looking around online this morning for an information card template I could fill out, and I didn’t like any of them. So I made my own. Click here to download it.
I recommend opening it with Adobe Reader and typing in your info, or you could print it out and hand write it with a tiny tiny pen. I made it the size of a credit card so you can cut it out and easily stick it in your wallet. I put it in front of my ID so it is easy for a first responder to find.

I’m playing with a new GPS tracker service called Buddyway. It looks like I’ll have better control over what happens if I leave cell range, but getting it to the website looks a bit more complicated (download kml, upload to my maps, etc.) On the upside, it means I can make whatever edits I want to the map before I embed it, like tweaking the path to match the roadway, and removing (or editing) their top speed marker. It doesn’t include Instamapper’s cool details at the bottom though, like mileage and duration. I’d have to do some of that stuff by hand. In the past, I’ve had problems with Google Maps where it won’t show an entire trip on one page if it is too long or complicated. It splits it into multiple parts. It remains to be seen if Buddyway will have this problem.
